Prof Marina Kleanthous (BSc, PhD) is the Head of the Molecular Genetics Thalassemia Department (MGTD) of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING) and Professor at the Cyprus School of Molecular Medicine (CSMM). Prof Kleanthous has published over 60 articles and has been involved in more than 25 projects, coordinating over 15 of them. Her expertise involve the molecular diagnosis of haemoglobin disorders, the prenatal diagnosis and preimplantation genetic diagnosis of rare diseases and non-invasive prenatal diagnosis. Her research interests include gene therapies for haemoglobin diseases, biomarker development using omics technologies and GWAS.
